Polycom Wireless Freedom
The Polycom SoundStation 2W conference phone works in a similar way to DECT cordless telephones, using the same DECT wireless technology. The base station supplied plugs into to an analogue phone line and transmits to the SoundStation 2W conference phone, this provides a reliable 150 feet wireless roaming range. The Polycom SoundStation 2W conference phone can be anywhere in the building within this range, allowing conference calls in locations most convenient to you. The Polycom Soundstation 2W does not limit by the location of a phone line.
The Polycom wireless conference phone system automatically hops through the available frequencies helping to avoid interference, bringing to you a constantly clear and natural sound. With a long lasting Lithium-ion battery the Polycom SoundStation 2W conference phone offers a 12 hour talk time with the non expandable version, and a 24 hour talk time with the expandable version.
Average charging times are 4 hours for the non expandable SoundStation 2W, and 8 hours for the expandable version.
Patented Technology
Acoustic Clarity Technology features on the SoundStation 2W conference phone provides natural sounding conversations. Being fully duplex the SoundStation 2W also means that every participant can speak at the same time, unlike older conference systems where only one person can speak and be heard at once.
Featuring Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR) the highly sensitive speakers pick up everything that is said, but at the same time cut out background office noise that can often be distracting to the other party.
Powerful Microphones & Speakers
The Polycom SoundStation 2W wireless conference phone will provide 360-degree room coverage. Through its intelligent mixing feature only the microphone nearest to the speaking person is active, which helps to reduce any unwanted sound pick-up from the other microphones.
Coverage on the Polycom SoundStation 2W conference phone can be increased by choosing the expandable version. This allows extra microphones to be connected and increases the recommended participants from ten to twenty.
Included with the Polycom SoundStation 2W is a Skype cable that enables the conference phone to be connected to a computers sound card, thus enabling VOIP calls to made over the internet.
There is also a cable provided which also enables users to connect the Polycom SoundStation 2W to a 2.5mm headset socket on a mobile phone. This allows you to use your mobile to make a conference call. This means there is no need for an analogue phone line to be present in the vicinity of the conference system.
Informative LCD Screen
There is a high resolution, large backlit LCD display that provides all manner of call information. The 12 key telephone pad provides standard telephone features and more.
The SoundStation 2W conference phone supports caller display and you can adjust the volume level and mute calls. There is last number redial and a 25 entry phone book with speed dials. Access to the menu is quick and navigation is easy thanks to its user friendly design. Initial connection of the SoundStation 2W conference phone is easy, and once fully charged the unit is ready to use.
Free Software Upgrade
You also have the choice of connecting the Polycom SoundStation 2W directly to PBX's that support GAP, which is the DECT standard. This enables you to use the conference phone anywhere in the building without the need of an analogue extension or the Polycom DECT base station.
