When purchased the Fusion Cat 6 cable can be purchased with a standard PVC sheath or a special LSZH covering. Fusion Cat 6 cable is a step up in from the Cat 5e cable available and ideal for anyone looking for better performance.
Fusion Cat 6 Box
When purchased, the Fusion Cat 6 cable is supplied in an easy to use box. Inside the Cat 6 cable is rolled onto reels which allow the user to pull out just what is needed, quickly and easily.
Also, the Fusion Cat 6 cable is marked every meter so not only does the installer knows how much cable they have removed but it also makes it easier to judge how much cable is left any whether another box of Cat 6 is needed.
Fusion PVC or LSZH
PVC and LSZH are two types of covering the Fusion Cat 6 cable is supplied in. PVC is the more common type and is just the standard plastic jacket found around the cable.
LSZH stands for low smoke zero halogen and has been designed so it is safer when burnt. In a fire PVC can release the poison gas hydrogen chloride which doesn’t happen with LSZH. For this reason installations in confined un-ventilated areas are better when done with LSZH cable.
Another term sometimes used for low smoke zero halogen is LSOH but this just means the same thing.
Fusion Cable Colours
The Fusion Cat 6 cables are different colours with the PVC having an orange colour and the LSZH being purple.
