The Motorola DTR2450 digital two way radio is a new kind of radio that sets the standard for future two way radios. Utilising Digital technology, this two way radio offers enhanced features compared to the standard analogue PMR446 variety.
Digital On-Site Business Radio
Classed as a digital on-site business radio, the Motorola DTR2450 offers both digital one-to-one calling and digital one-to-many calling unlike the traditional analogue PMR446 radios that only allow one-to-many communication. This means you now have a choice of who listens and who doesn’t. Under its one-to-many call feature you can hold a private group call to pre-selected user groups for private and secure communication within the group, or a public group call to all other DTR radios on the same group ID and channel. Under its one-to–one call feature you can talk privately with a specific user’s radio.
Works Outside the UK
These license free digital radios operate on the 2.4 GHz ISM frequency which stands for Industrial, Scientific and Medical and also means that the Motorola DTR2450 digital two way radios can be used anywhere in the world where wireless/WiFi devices can be used. The radio, as standard, is supplied with North American, European and UK adaptors to enable universal charging.
Secure Transmission
The Motorola DTR2450 digital two way radios utilises Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum or FHSS. This means the radios are safe and secure and transmissions cannot be picked up and listened into by people with radio scanners. It also means the radios are free from the majority of interference you may experience with other non digital license free radios.

The digital technology found on the Motorola DTR2450 two way radios not only provides a wealth of upgraded and advanced features but also an enhanced range, a long battery life and consistent loud clear speech. You can expect up to 23 hours of use from one full charge of the battery. The radio features a large easy to read LCD to display many of its features and functions.

There are a number of Motorola DTR radio series accessories available such as, a DTR in car charger, a DTR carry holster and a DTR mini keyboard which clips onto the radio to allow free-form messaging.
