Binaural Headsets
As opposed to the single track sound omitted by the monaural headset, the binaural headset offers
stereo sound, produced by speakers either side of the users head. The sound produced through a binaural headset is far
clearer than that of a monorail device; removing more background noise and allowing the user to focus primarily on the
caller.
Variety of Wearing Styles
Binaural headsets come in various wearing styles including over the head and behind the neck. The
decision on which type of wearing style to chose is purely down to the individuals personal preference and provides
greater comfort.
Although most binaural headsets have separate wires connected to both of the speakers, some modern
headsets offer a single wire interface. The single wire alternative provides marginally improved usability, reducing
trailing wires and the various inherent problems that they can cause.
Focused Stereo Sound
Binaural headsets give an all-round performance, attracting both office and home users. Some binaural
headsets have Bluetooth and offer wireless connectivity. As they reduce background noise and provide better sound
quality to the user they are particularly useful in offices or call centres in which there is a great deal of distracting
noise and the user is dealing with a high volume of calls.
