Hands Free Calls

DECT technology works in a similar way to mobile phone technology but with much lower range. Typically, DECT headsets are limited to around 25m to 100m which is perfectly adequate for most home and office users.

Digital signals are sent from a base unit to the headset, the base unit being connected to the telephone. Sound quality is as good as a corded telephone or corded headset connection due to the digital signal enhancement technology.

Wireless Communication on the Move

The primary advantage of DECT headsets is the lack of cords or wires. This allows for greater movement when using the headset. Therefore it has all the functionality of a cordless home phone - at least with regards to receiving calls - but without the inconvenience of having to carry around a bulky phone. Therefore you can be anywhere within the permitted range of the receiver and still accept calls from the base. This flexibility makes it the ideal product for someone constantly moving around an office building or home who receives a large volume of calls.

Buying considerations include the quality of the signal - ensure the sound quality in the headset is clear and audible. It is also worth checking the effective range of the DECT headset.
