Wireless Headsets
In the past few years, Wireless headsets have become very popular.
Wireless headsets communicate using radio signals between the headset and the base unit. The
technology used can be Bluetooth, FM, Infrared or Wi-Fi. They often have the same advanced features offered by corded
headsets, e.g. noise cancelling, mute option and setting volume levels. Some wireless headsets also come with an
amplifier - the main purpose of which is to enhance the signals coming from the telephone and can offer a roaming
range up to 100 metres.
Uninterrupted Mobile Communication
Advantages of wireless headsets include the ability for users to move around without interrupting
an ongoing conversation, which makes it an excellent choice for the office. Most headsets are also compatible with a
remote headset lifter, which enables the user to remotely answer or hang up a call, by just clicking a button.
The main disadvantage with some wireless headsets is slight interference with some frequencies.
However recent enhancements in wireless technology mean these problems are gradually diminishing.
