Two-Way Radios Compatibility
The first consideration when establishing compatibility for two-way radios is whether it is PMR446. Any PMR446 radio will work another PMR446 radio so long as the channels match up.
The PMR446 devices use a 446MHz UHF-based frequency which is currently the precedent for all unlicensed radios in Europe. As they utilise a very similar frequency – there are slight variations across different models – two-way radios can easily communicate with one another anywhere up to 6 miles apart. In order to contact another PMR446 device you simply need to be logged into the same channel – preferably a less popular one to avoid undue interference.
For headsets, it’s important to check compatibility between the two items. To ensure that a headset will be compatible with your radio system, please see the compatibility information on the product pages for more information.
