Konftel Unveils New Konftel 300 Conference Phone
“Our goal was to create the world’s best conference ‘phone.” So said Peter Renkel, chief executive officer of Konftel when unveiling the manufacturer’s latest model, the Konftel 300. The new piece of kit certainly looks the part, marrying a stylish Scandinavian design to an impressive spec. Whether it’s the world’s best conference phone is, of course, a matter of some debate, but if you’re in the market for a new conference phone it’s definitely worth a look.
Making connections
Among the Konftel 300’s many pluses is multiple connectivity with the unit capable of being linked to analogue telephone lines, mobile phones, wireless DECT ‘phones and, via USB, to PCs. It can also connect to PA systems, wireless headsets and additional microphones. A line selector also enables easy switching and combining of those connection options.
Another nice touch is an integral record and playback function, so conferences may be recorded and saved via an SD card, which, of course, then enables transfer of audio files to a PC. If you think about it, that’s really handy as you can simply and quickly archive files or email them. A “conference guide” offers helping hands including aiding creation of multi-party calls by allowing you to store the details of up to 20 groups. Konftel also claims the 300 has been future-proofed and pledged that new functions will be developed regularly, with upgrades simply downloaded as they are released.
Sound Sense
Of course all the technological whizzes and bangs mean nothing if sound quality is poor. But the Konftel boffins have not forgotten the unit’s core purpose and thus incorporated the latest upgrade of the company’s OmniSound technology which automatically filters background noise and offers users an equaliser so they can adjust sound by choosing either a soft, neutral or hard pitch. That’s complemented by a 360o microphone designed to tackle large meeting rooms, and three speakers.
All in all then, given its functionality, flexibility and call quality, it’s hard not to argue that the Konftel 300 is a sound choice.
