When you're purchasing a Konftel audio conference phone one of the main things you have to think about is the compatibility with what you're plugging it into. If you have a standard BT analogue line in your office, then you can use a traditional audio conference phone like the Konftel 100. However in most offices, it is more common to find a phone system, so that anyone can answer and transfer calls around the building.

With so many different brands and models of phone system on the market, finding a compatible conference phone can be really difficult. Also if you are investing in a conference phone, what you don't want to happen is for it to become redundant if you change your phone system in the future.

Konftel 50 & 60w Compatibility

The Konftel 50 and Konftel 60w audio conference phones don't actually plug into the incoming phone line, instead they connect into the existing telephone that is already on the desk. They do so by plugging into the phone handset socket or headset socket. This means that it does not matter if the existing telephone is on a telephone system, or direct into a telephone line. The Konftel 50 or 60w audio conference phones will always be compatible, making them future proof as well.

Another distinctive feature of the Konftel 50 and 60w audio conference phones is that there is no keypad for dialing a number. This is because all the controls for making the call is kept with the existing telephone. Not only does it make using the Konftel phones less confusing, it helps as some phone systems have special controls only the existing phone can access.

There are two main differences between the Konftel 50 and 60w audio conference phones. One is that the Konftel 60w has the ability to expand with extra microphones. If a call is being made around a long table users will be further spread out at either end, further from the conference unit in the centre. These extra microphones spread out so everyone can talk at the same level, and everyone can be involved in the conversation.

The second difference is that the Konftel 60w has Bluetooth capabilities as well, which means you can pair it to a mobile telephone. Then you can not only use your mobiles free minutes if you want, but also you can make a call in a room without a phone line.

Having an audio conference phone that is compatible with anything takes away the restrictions of ordinary conferencing equipment. It provides not only excellent audio quality, but fantastic flexibility in where it can be used as well.
