Plantronics Supraplus Noise Cancelling Headsets or Voice Tube Headsets?

When you are purchasing Plantronics corded headsets one of the choices you will have to make is whether to buy with a voice tube, or a noise cancelling microphone. Often people think that a headset with two earpieces (Binaural) is a noise cancelling headset, but this assumption is wrong. Wearing a two earpiece headset allows the user to concentrate on a call and not be distracted by noise in the office, it does not stop noise getting onto the call it self.

Plantronics SupraPlus Voice Tube Headsets

Plantronics Supraplus voice tube headsets are ideal for offices that do not have a lot of background noise. They collect the users voice extremely well, and come in one or two earpiece versions. The single earpiece headset is called the Plantronics H251 SupraPlus Monaural, and the two-earpiece is the H261 SupraPlus Binaural. They are cheaper than the noise cancelling headsets, but you will need to replace the voice tubes every so often. This can make them more expensive than the noise cancelling versions in the long run, but does help with hygiene.

Plantronics SupraPlus Noise Cancelling Headsets

The noise cancelling version of the Supraplus headset is also available in the one earpiece monaural H251N, and the two earpiece Binaural H261N. It works by collecting the sound from the wearer's voice, and blocking out the sound around you. This helps the person you are talking to hear you clearly, and also helps bring the sound levels in the office down as people do not have to talk over each other.

Often I have called companies with call centres and can hear clearly the conversation taking place nearby. Compared to the voice tube version the SupraPlus noise cancelling can help cut out up to 72% of background noise in the office.

Wireless Noise Cancelling Headsets

With more users of headsets deciding to go wireless Plantronics have also introduced the SupraPlus wireless range of headsets. These models are available in Monaural and Binaural earpiece versions and come with noise cancelling as standard.
