Canon Launches ‘Laser Like’ All-in-One Inkjet
‘Laser like’ print quality is the bold claim made by Canon for its new PIXMA MX7600 inkjet all-in-one, the first to feature the manufacturer’s Pigment Reaction (PgR) technology. Designed for users in home, small and medium sized offices with low volume colour requirements, the new model allows “presentation quality” printing on plain paper.
A Pigment For Your Documentation!
Canon says PgR eliminates potential inkjet irritations such as ink bleeds, paper curling, moisture degradation of images and ‘show through’ by coating paper with a clear ink to which its colour inks then bind. This, it says, improves ink saturation, brightness and fixation and delivers high contrast results which offer enhance colour density, image stability and durability. Quality is deemed of photo-lab standard.
All For One
But the Canon unit delivers more than quality print. Paper and associated costs can be minimised through double-sided printing and copying, whilst ease of use is enhanced by an automatic document feeder for print, scan and copy functions. Print and copy speeds vary from 28ppm for mono and 23ppm for colour, whilst borderless quality photo prints are generated in 43 seconds using the MX7600’s standard mode. Faxing is easy and responsive, powered by a Super G3 modem with eight one touch dials, 100 speed dials and 107 group dials. Other benefits include Ethernet connectivity to enable remote printing and scanning from networked devices.
