Entel Unveils Next Generation of Submersible Radios
UK manufacturer Entel has launched a new range of durable waterproof two-way radios for land, marine, PMR and ‘intrinsically safe’ applications, such as within explosive environments. The new HT Series 2.0 conform to the IP68 classification meaning they offer protection against a wire touching dangerous parts, are sealed against dust and are protected from water contamination when constantly submersed.
Designed by you
The new range follows the successfully established HT Series 1.0 with Entel reporting it has re-designed models in response to its customers’ feedback. The upgraded and extended range offers louder audio reception and features an improved back-lit LCD display compared to its predecessor. Signalling has also been enhanced making it compatible with other caller ID formats, including those of Icom, Kenwood and Motorola. To minimise on-costs and hassle the existing HT Series’ batteries and chargers are compatible with the new generation sets.
Signal your options
The new two-way radio range spans through the entry level 16 channel non-LCD HT7X2 through to the top-end, feature-loaded, trunked variant MPT1327, which offers 255 channels, full keypad, back-lit LCD display and phone style menu. Standard features include whisper mode, personal attack alarm 1800mAH Li-Ion battery, VOX hands-free operation, and low battery warning. LCD displays also offer a battery counter, whilst options include GPS location and navigation, ‘man down’ alerts, Bluetooth connectivity and voice enunciation. All models are future-proofed by being Flash upgradeable and are available in a choice of frequency bands.
